This information is provided by the candidate |
To serve in judicial assignments that fully utilize the knowledge and skills I have acquired during my 30-year legal career. As a Superior Court Commissioner, I have been performing the duties of a full-time judge for almost five years. I want to continue to serve the people of Orange County by presiding over more complex criminal and civil cases utilizing the knowledge and skills I have acquired during my 30-year legal career as a federal prosecutor, in civil practice, and most recently as Superior Court Commissioner. As a Superior Court Commissioner I have received judicial training and acquired practical skills presiding over hundreds of cases. I bring to the bench 17 years of experience as a federal prosecutor conducting criminal trials and representing the United States before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, I was a civil trial lawyer with the firm of O'Melveny & Myers for seven years. This variety of legal experiences prepared me to preside over felony cases in the criminal division and complex civil trials. |
