After college at the age of 23 I started Daystar Energy Systems, one of California's first solar and energy conservation contracting firms and grew it into one of the largest in California.

In 1986 my wife Susan, an environmental scientist I started ACC Environmental Consultants, a firm that managed the removal of cancer-causing asbestos from buildings and contaminants from soli and groundwater.

We sold ACC to our 30 employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 1999 and followed our dream of living in Sonoma County. We planted a vineyard and currently produce small lot Pinot Noir under our Churchill Cellars label.
