Middle Eastern Christians are the most persecuted group in the world and as a nation birthed by the Puritains who came here for religious freedom, we should advocate more for them and end all foreign aid to countries that persecute Christians.
According to a Pew Study, the world's most persecuted group are Middle Eastern Christians. We have seen with the fall of secular regimes that indigenous Christians have been hounded out of their ancestral homelands by the millions by Muslim fanatics. My father came to America from Iraq to be free from institutional prejudice towards Christians and economic freedom. Prior to the first Gulf War there were well over a million Christians in Iraq, but today there are less than 400,000. Christians are threatened, beheaded, homes burned down, kidnapped and harassed just for practicing their faith.
This kind of barbarism is not acceptable and our tax dollars should not go to regimes that tolerate or practice this kind of evil. At the turn of the last century, well over a million Armenians, Assyrians and other Christian groups were murdered by Ottoman Turks and their Kurdish allies which the west did little to stop. This lead to the Jewish Holocaust some years later during WWII. We must never be complicit with this kind of inhumanity.
