Create a Renaissance

Reflections on the Immortality of the Human Soul

Consider as you read this, that the human species has reached a moment of singular importance in its existence. The affirmation of the immortality of the human soul, which is the source of joy for the annual Easter celebration, is now threatened by a view of man which threatens the very existence of our civilization, and of all mankind.

As we confront the growing outbreak of a war to end all wars, as a war today among the great powers threatens thermonuclear extinction, we must consider that this maybe the last Easter Sunday we celebrate, and reflect upon the profound change our political leadership must adopt, now, before even the next election.

For it is the defining characteristic of our republic that human life is not defined by the material bookends of birth and death, much as the actions of President Obama and his political ilk may suggest, but that human life may live on after death still alive in the minds of her citizens, much as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy live on today.

As for these patriotic Presidents, as for any patriot of our country, one must often ask, "What will my life mean? What will come of my having lived?"

The voluntary will of human life to contribute to society that which must not be delayed, that which if left undone could threaten the future of one's nation or even mankind, may offer resolution to our personal struggles with such questions.

It is this quality of patriot today who must insist on President Obama's immediate removal to end the thrust of war. We must then restore Glass-Steagall, and return to the policy endeavors of our last great President, John Kennedy. For no animal ever considers such voluntary sacrifices, and never for the well being of its entire species. This is the nature of the human soul.

Today, if we are to revive the living conception of our republic, thus rescuing the world from the clutches of thermonuclear extinction, and a war which is all but inevitable under the current economic system's collapse, we must begin from the perspective of the simultaneity of existence of the immortality of the human soul within the broader undiscovered stretches of the fabric of physical space and time. For we live in such a Universe, one singularly created for the mind of man that was yet to be, to discover, albeit finitely, the infinite and immortal soul of a loving God.

It is by this process that we may, with all of our shortcomings, win the peace.
