More JobsBy Reanette FillmerCandidate for Council Member; City of Chico | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I've spent the past 20 years assisting employers with job creation and business development. It is more critical than ever that our city council be led by individuals who will work to maximize job creation in Chico. As a small business owner, I understand the relationship between a strong economy and our quality of life. It's not enough to pass an economic development plan and then sit back and wait for the economy to improve. We must take action to roll out the `red carpet' for employers and build a new reputation as a business friendly community. On the city council, I will reject proposals that seek to further regulate or tax our job creators. I will also fight for a more streamlined permitting process that is easy for businesses to navigate. It is critical that we work to improve the quality of life in Chico in order to encourage job-creating companies to stay or move into our community. This means creating a safer community with better roads, great schools and unlimited opportunities. |
