The developers will take as much as you give them, that's called capitalism. Someone local needs to be on the lookout for the best interest of the residents and local businesses.
Much will be said and many have been heard regarding any 'interpreted view' of our Town Center plan. Regardless of anyone's opinion, when a developer feels they have conformed to the regulations set forth, they will be looking to build their desired design, whether the rest of the community likes it or not.
The bottom line is we ALL want Dana Point to finally move into the 21st century, but we must strike a balance between the developers profits and the best interests of our community. I will strongly oppose any project that does not adhere to the set stipulations created by the original Town Center committee, in addition I feel overcrowding the core area of our community with multi-level stacked dormitory-style rat boxes is not in the best interest of our residents, nor was it the original intention of the plan authors. This applies to new residential as well as hotel projects.
We need to KEEP DANA POINT BEAUTIFUL!
