Ballot Statement

I will fight to improve OUSD so that our children receive the worldclass education they deserve. I will carefully review the District's decisions to make sure that our tax dollars benefit our students directly, not the administration.

I will work tirelessly to ensure our tax dollars are spent in the classroom. I will not sell our school properties for short term gains to real estate developers. We must be vigilant in community oversight of any bonds so that our school facilities benefit, not consultants and contractors. As a homeowner, I know that quality schools are vital to the strength of our neighborhoods and integral to property values. As a parent of recent OUSD graduates and a community college teacher, I know how important it is ensure our students are college and career-ready. This means we must focus on improving student-based programs, reducing class sizes and expanding Gifted and Talented Education Programs.

We need to build more partnerships with parent groups and members of the public and include them in District decisions. I will fight for more transparency and public involvement.
