Preparing them for college and life should be a focus. Dana M. Cummings 2757 votes 39.28% Occupation: Veterans Service Officer I have three kids that will be going to school in the district until 2030! I was appointed in 2011 as the County veterans Services Officer and I have a BS in Computer Information Systems. I have been a member of the SLO CO Homeless Oversight Council for 2 years. 2012 I was recognized as Patriot of the Year by Toy's for Tots for my work helping veterans and their families. 2011 I was recognized as Veteran of the Year by Senator Sam Blakeslee for my work helping veterans. 2010 I was named a CNN Hero, for my work in the community, 1 of 22 from 27000 world wide. Priorities: Make sure staff and students have the tools they need to succeed, and that our schools are safe. Make sure the budget allows for our children to participate in enrichment programs like Rancho El Chorro, and be exposed to the arts. Make sure bond funds for school infrastructure upgrades are used responsibly.
