The 200 word ballot statement submitted to the Sonoma County Registrar of VotersI bring a fresh, working perspective to the board of trustees with 23 years as a public school teacher. I have experience using the most current educational practices. I hold a master's degree in Education: Teacher Leadership, and K-12 California teaching credentials. I have two children in Windsor schools and my wife is a credentialed elementary school teacher. I am a member of the WHS Boosters, Windsor Advocates for Music, and have many years of coaching local youth soccer and baseball teams. In running for Windsor Unified School District School Board Trustee, I bring knowledge of the implementation of Common Core State Standards and Smarter Balance testing. I am certified in Project Based Learning by the Buck Institute for Education. I have vast experience working with English Language Learners and Economically Disadvantaged students. My experience with local control funding models, teacher evaluation, and college/career readiness are all assets valuable to the position. I was born and raised in Windsor and have watched the community grow and develop into the wonderful place it is to live today. I am dedicated to the advancement of all our youth through education and opportunity, thereby continuing the positive growth of the Windsor community. |
