CANDIDATE FOR MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL

MONTEBELLO CITY GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION

Occupation: Printing Operations Specialist

Montebello is a wonderful place I have lived in since the early 1960s. I attended Montebello schools when they were among California's best schools. At USC I studied Physics, Political Science, and Slavic Languages (Russian). I have always been a quick study, and look forward to using my abilities in understanding and evaluating the needs of Montebello for the benefit of my fellow residents.

I have always been registered to vote in Montebello since my first ballot, so I understand the city's problems and have new, untried ideas about how to bring the city into the Third Millennium. I have been in leadership positions (President, VP, etc.) in the Montebello Community Literacy Program at Schurr for much of the nearly 20 years I was a volunteer there. I have been studying and advocating for Modern Urban Planning at the city council for the many years I have been a leader in the public service group The Save the Montebello Hills Task Force, Sierra Club, Angeles Chapter. This allowed me to understand and help expose the fiscal and physical dangers of the Montebello Oilfield Condo Project.

I believe it is time for a modern and fresh approach to development in the city, and together we will work to bring Montebello into a bright, successful future.
