As I ask for your powerful vote March 7, 2000, what warranted my fellow citizens to elect me as Chair of the State Democratic Party's Business and Professional Caucus for the 1997 - 1999 term? (Besides connections to county leaders from Alameda to Kern, and from San Diego to Ventura counties) I have worked on elections for my fellow Californians, since 1984. I raised community funds in the Bradley run for Governor back in 1986. I provided momentum during primaries for critical campaigns throughout the 1990's inside and beyond Ventura County borderlines. I first worked as a vocational office automation instructor and software trainer, in and fresh out of college. Next, I worked six years tracking hazardous materials as part of the environmental sector within the corporate properties of the Los Angeles Air Force Base. For about the last year and a fraction, I have analyzed commercial client response data for national management in the phone industry. I went to high school in Long Island, New York, and completed my college studies at schools such as Drexel University, Philadelphia, and the California State University, Northridge. My post graduate work in environmental management was completed through UCLA Extension. Meanwhile, in what little spare time was left, I supported various judges, State Board of Equalization members, U.S. Congress campaigns, that I could. I started registering voters, back at CSU-Northridge circa 1984-85, and couldn't stop. I registered a few thousand in about two years. I stopped mass registering while completing a graduate degree in computing at the Northrop Univ./Institute. I resumed a near solitary shopping mall based registration campaign in the mid-1990's, and found a few club members along the way who eventually became some great County Leaders, and Assembly District Leaders. They led our recent Democratic Registration surge, in which I took part. You may have seen me supporting local candidates and/or registering voters in local Conejo Valley Shopping Malls between 1997 and 2000. Vote Eric Albert - Ventura County Democratic Central Committee - Tuesday, March 7 2000. |
