I attended public schools when I was a youngster.
At 16 yrs. of age I entered the Army. It was wartime and I was with the first group that left for overseas. After the war I got around to attending high school and then went on to four years at Michigan State University. I married Sally who was then a cadet nurse. She had a remarkable career as an author and as a school nurse. My two daughters, Leslie and Marti both attended Garden Grove public schools.
After becoming a small businessman, in insurance and real estate, I ran and won election for Garden Grove City Council. I was elected to that office twice, and was elected mayor twice. I have also been Director and Officer in several nonprofit organizations, and am now a Director of an educational foundation. I continue to teach the Esperanto language.
After the loss of my wife Sally this year, I resolved to continue fighting for what we have always stood for. Public Schools have always been a top priority for us.
