Candidacy Statement / QualificationsBy John P. CarcioneCandidate for Board Member; West Bay Sanitary District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I believe I am the most qualified candidate to serve on the West Bay Board because I am a consumer advocate who is deeply committed to open and public government. I have demonstrated my heartfelt conviction that the District must never lose sight of its primary mission: to serve our consumers in an open, ethical, and cost-effective manner worthy of the public's trust. The West Bay Sanitary District has come a long way in the last few years, but there still remains much work to be done. I ran for a position on the Board four years ago to bring an ethical and fresh perspective and badly needed positive change. Since my election as President of the Board of Directors, and with the support of the new majority, the District has turned around dramatically. Employee morale is higher than it has ever been and the Board is responsibly tackling the District's issues of the future. An illegally chosen Manager has been ousted and the last vestiges of the corruption that plagued the District prior to my election has all but been eliminated. I am proud to have been at the forefront of the majority that has cleaned up the embarassment that has been the West Bay Sanitary District. Since my being elected four years ago, I have graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and have recently taken the bar. My legal education has helped me greatly and I feel it will continue to benefit the ratepayers of the District. With the new majority, I am hopeful that I can help lead West Bay Sanitary District into a future that provides reliable, competent, and reasonable service to the ratepayers of the District. Please vote for me again. |
