Candidate for
Council Member; City of Ojai

I believe I am a viable candidate for re-election. Ojai needs a good role model in leadership and in the decision making process. On a personal note, I've been a resident of Ojai since 1965, that's 37 years. I have 2 children, both graduates of Nordhoff, and 3 grandchildren. Finally and most significantly my most seasoned supporter and greatest critic, my wife Mary. We will soon be celebrating our 50th anniversary.

I have 15 years experience working in industry and 28 years in public education; that's 27 years with the Ojai Unified School District, with 24 of those years as the administrator of San Antonio Elementary School, a California Distinguished School under my leadership. It was one of 233 out of over 4500 schools in California to receive this award.

I am a member of HELP of Ojai, the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy, the Ojai Valley Museum, and the Ojai Valley American Heart Association. I have also served on the committees of the 4th of July Parade and Ojai Day.

For leisure activities, I enjoy reading, photography, working out the gym 3 times a week, church activities, a season pass to Mammoth which allows at least 20 days of skiing a season, and most importantly, anything I get to do with my family

I have volunteered for the last 35 years with the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament, serving on the Board and 5 years as the president.

In conclusion, I feel very strongly that my track record in each of the previously mentioned organizations is proof in itself that I've been a good role model in providing quality leadership.
