MPC is dear to my heart and I am willing to give as much of my energy and time to preserve present programs and the positions of many employeesBy Kathrina OgnyanovichCandidate for Governing Board Member; Monterey Peninsula Community College District | |

I have been associated with MPC since 1975. I was a part-time instructor and a member of the team that introduced the Ethnic Studies Program and EOPS to the college." Thank you for all the support you have given to faculty and staff at Monterey Peninsula College. You have always been open and willing to dialogue with faculty regarding issues of faculty, staff, and most important the issues of students." Mark Clements, Instructor, MPC, 2001 As a resident of Monterey Peninsula since 1974, I feel strongly about our local communities and residents, and I always tried to represent all of our residents sincerely while serving on the Board of Trustees. I have been associated with MPC since 1976. I was a part-time instructor and a member of the team that introduced the Ethnic Studies Program and EOPS to the college. MPC is dear to my heart, and I am willing to give as much of my energy and time, as it is needed, to preserve present programs and the positions of many employees. While serving as a Trustee, some of my goals, like for instance "to open up the MPC system and include community participation" have been partially accomplished:
1. Board members are much visible on the campus; And I am thrilled about it. But I am not so happy with the situation MPC is facing at Fort Ord and the vague activities being undertaken to address and introduce better diversity representation on the campus. We need to generate better cooperation with all segments of the community if we are truly to serve ALL. Only together can we make a difference. I recognize important obligation and duty that I have to you and the community, and in return for your continuing support. I look forward to working on the issues still challenging our education system and especially on extremely critical budget issues. You VOTE counts. Please JOIN ME. I thank you for your support. I will keep truly representing you and our communities as I have done for so many years in the past. |
