Candidate for
Council Member; City of Sunnyvale; Seat 7

Melinda was born and raised in Sunnyvale. She and her husband currently reside in a historic home in the downtown area.

Melinda was the founding president of the Friends of Sunnyvale. Under her leadership, this community group worked to place three initiatives before the voters in order to protect Sunnyvale's downtown from a re-develoment plan which focused on high-rise towers an ignored the needs of the community. Through the Melinda's work, the revised plan for the city's downtown is now closer to the design which Sunnyvale's residents want and the city's businesses need to build a thriving downtown that will endure.

Melinda has spent most of her career in marketing, working for both high-tech companies and nonprofit organizations, as well as running her own small business.

Melinda graduated with bachelor's degrees in communications and Russian studies from the University of California at San Diego.
