Public SafetyBy John SawyerCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Santa Rosa | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
There is simply nothing more important than feeling safe and secure.Public safety is paramount. In our homes, our neighborhoods, our schools and on our streets, we should feel safe and secure. The state legislature has taken millions of dollars from our city...36 Million to be exact, forcing them to make drastic budget cuts. We must find ways to ensure our police and fire services suffer no further cuts. Last year, over 2000 response times were over six minutes. Our citizens deserve better. I am in favor of Measure "O", the 1/4 cent sales tax increase. This tax would enhance our police and fire protection and add resources to our gang prevention programs. |
