President Rosevelt had a plan and a promise. We cannot break the promise.President Roosevelt had a plan and a promise. We cannot break the promise, yet many in congress wish to do so. If you paid into the Social Security System for many years you should expect to draw out funds when you retire, I expect to do so soon. Those who say that there is nothing wrong with the Social Security System today are the same ones who ten years ago cried of the doom and gloom to come. With a change in administration they ceased to wring their hands. Posturing gains nothing for the people. The program can be repaired while leaving the promise intact! Our young people should expect to do better on their retirement. 1.5 to 2% is a poor rate of return. They should earn 8 to 10% in their retirement plan. Even if they pay a 3% management fee and had a return of only 8% it would be a net gain of 3% in the first year and a gain of 6% in the following years. It doesn't take much math to see what plan is best. Everything is in place to implement this plan in less than a year. |
