Directing administration, work with the teaching staff to develop a better way of raising achievement and statewide test scores.
The current method of "handed down directives" from top level administration has proven to be ineffective in raising the much viewed and analyzed statewide test scores. To date, nothing more than a marginal increase, but most commonly, a flat "status quo" of scoring levels has been achieved. While administration sees this as a "sign of the times", the families of Wasco deserve the highest level of education possible. Working closer with the teaching staff to achieve greater gains has proven effective in many other districts all over the state. Teaching staff are the "front line" in working with our students and they see and know what works and what doesn't work. Giving our students a higher level of elementary education also will aid our children to achieve a better understanding of basic principles and will increase the performance levels in secondary education. Utilizing the "first hand" knowledge and experience of the teaching staff to create a better plan will give the families of Wasco the quality education they deserve and expect.
