I have insight into the district due to my involvement in the schools since moving to the mountain communities in 1996. I have:
- Lead Earth Science field trips
- Served as a guest speaker in multiple classes
- Organized, taught, and graded the physics labs at FMHS (1997-1999)
- Instigated the FMHS FIRST Robotics Team
- Served as a member of the FMHS ComTec Academy steering committee
- Played a key role in having over 300 computers donated to the district last year after they were retired from service at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory where I work
I have also been active in the community with my sons as an AYSO soccer coach, a Boy Scout Scoutmaster, a Cub Scout Den Leader, and I performed the initial site surveying for the skatepark.
