For two decades Mr. Jones recruited and guided a staff of highly skilled professionals at California State University in the areas of resource development, media liason and public, governmental and community affairs. Over the course of his career as a faculty and staff member he has raised over $100 million in contributed funds for two colleges.

Mr. Jones was the founder and Executive Officer of the CSUS Trust Foundation; Treasurer Emeritus of the International Association of University Presidents; and served on the Board of Directors for Capital Public Radio (KXPR and KXJZ) and the Center for California Studies.

Currently he is a member of the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Valley Conservancy and serves on the Blue Ribbon Commission for the California State Parks.

He was a professor of political science at CSU Chico (teaching American Government, Public Administration, International Relations and Comparative Government) and has held various staff and teaching assignments with the University of California (UC Santa Barbara and Office of the President UC). In addition to teaching at CSU Chico he has been and instructor and staff member at three other CSU campuses (San Francisco, Dominguez Hill and Sacramento); and taught courses at the Colleges of San Mateo, Lassen and Shasta.

Also he has held other professional positions with the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, US Agency for International Development, US Office of Economic Opportunity, Peace Corps, Sierra Club and the California State Legislature.

Specific staff positions in higher eductation have included: Executive Dean at California State University,Dominguez Hills; Director of Public Service Programs Office of the President University of California; and Assistant Dean of Students, California State University, Chico.

While at Sacramento State Mr. Jones arranged and managed institutional partnerships with the Sacramento Trade and Commerce Organization; the United Way, Sacramento Chamber of Commerce,Sacramento Tomorrow Coalition, Valley Vision, Sacramento Urban League,the Regional Research Institute, Arts and Business Council, US Army Corp of Engineers, Sacramento Sports Association, Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy and the California Elected Women's Association for Education and Research.

Mr. Jones completed undergraduate, graduate and advanced studies at UC Santa Barbara, Universidad Nacional Automa de Mexico, UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, Harvard and Contra Costa College.

He has been a resident of Fair Oaks for 22 years and has been married for 42 years to Julianne C. Jones, a former school teacher. They are the parents of two adult daughters.
