This information is provided by the candidate |
The Galt Joint Union High School District is in very good shape. The GJUHSD is in the best shape fiscally and academically it has been in the past 10 years. This has come about through the diligent work of a cohesive and questioning Board. The Board has held that accountability and positive action are of top priority. Our expectations are high. We have raised test scores nearly 200 points in just four years. Galt High has added over 15 new advanced placement and Honors courses (up from 3). We have started a new inovative Engineering Department, expanded our multi-media offerings, rejuvinated our journalism courses and re-invigorated school pride. All of this while maintaing and adding to the funding in the Ag, English, History, Math, Science, Business, Dama, Band and Sports Programs. With our new administrative staff we have implemented a system (EduSoft) of checking on the progress of individual students as well as groups of students in order to check the effectiveness of our teaching practices. Parents are now able to check on line through our School Loop program on their children's progress as well as their class involvemet, homework and grades. More will come. |
