WATER CONSERVATION And SUSTAINABLE SOURCES OF WATER

I am committed to conservative budgeting balanced with progressive capital improvements. I believe in fair and equitable consideration, representation, and rates for all District customers: Agriculture, Residential, Commercial, and Environmental.

PLAN, PROTECT, CONSERVE, SUSTAIN: PLAN for the future; PROTECT what we have; CONSERVE and use our resources wisely; and SUSTAIN these valuable resources well into the future. These are my objectives and my philosophies.

My priorities are a clean, secure, reliable water supply - this is the mission of the Goleta Water District. I am also committed to this supply into the long-range future. I am committed to balancing the water needs of every segment of our society: residential, commercial, agriculture and the environment.

The Goleta Water District is no longer in control of or involved in the "growth-no growth development" issues in our County. They must continue to be completely focused on the business of water quality and delivery. The reality is, however, that the California population will continue to grow. Our agricultural community and environment are at risk. We must plan, protect, and sustain our water resources and the infrastructure which supports the security, cleanliness, and delivery of the water. We must provide water for agriculture and for our environment in addition to business and residential customers. Water rates must not be prohibitive to any segment of this population.

I believe the Goleta Water District must actively promote water conservation concurrent with continual improvements to the water delivery system.

I will promote public involvement in the Goleta Water District, as I did in 2002,when I was a member of GWD Public Information Committee

I would be honored to serve as your representative on the Goleta Water Board.
