Priorities for 2nd Term on Redodno Beach City CouncilBy Don SzerlipCandidate for Council Member, Council; City of Redondo Beach; District 3 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
A letter to constituents outlining priorities for my second term in office.Dear Friends & Neighbors, Community service is not an act of politics. It is an act of leadership in the community. I have worked hard to improve every aspect of Redondo Beach. I have improved every neighborhood street in District 3 including Artesia Boulevard and much of Inglewood Avenue. I have encouraged quality development to locate in Redondo Beach. I have made sure our City parks have been improved. I have supported a strong graffiti removal and enforcement program and crime has been reduced. I ask now for the privilege of your support, and your vote, for another term on the Redondo Beach City Council. My agenda for the next four years remains focused: maintain safe neighborhoods; provide a balanced budget; improve our streets and traffic flow and provide strong, sensible economic development for Redondo Beach. SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS: I have fought hard to IMPROVE public safety by promoting a hands-on approach to police work. With a new Police Chief we have improved the efficiency of our police force. We must continue to fight graffiti so that gangs do not believe that Redondo Beach is their turf. ACCOUNTABILITY: For every tax dollar spent, we must get a dollar's worth of services. I have been able to cut waste and balance the budget. I will continue to insist the City be run on a business basis with complete accountability. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: We must continue to retain and attract businesses to Redondo Beach. The Galleria must expand to fill in its unused land. Harbor area revitalization should include more hotel rooms and better stores and restaurants. All these improvements will help to generate tax dollars from visitors and not residents. Join with me in creating a brighter future for all our families. The Redondo Beach we've worked so hard to build can, and will, be the desirable future home for our youth! I know about bringing people together to work for a better community. On Election Day, March 6, please cast your vote for Don Szerlip. I'll work hard for everyone in Redondo Beach. Thank you, Don Szerlip |
