Our Youth

Our Youth are Our Future.....and our future has many problems that need to be corrected, prevented and eliminated....if we are to have a safe and secure future.

Over the years, I have gained immeasurable experience both educationally and professionally. I was fortunate enough to be able to obtain higher education and had two loving parents, Dr. Carleton C. and Kathleen Richards who were community role models. Time and Time again, they gave back to their community and were the inspiration to many to make a difference including me. They instilled this dedication into my brother Carl and I.

I firmly believe like my parents and many other notable scholars such as W.E.B. Dubois and Frederick Douglass, that the key to solving some of society's intractable problems of poverty, urban decay, and disintegrating families, is not by attacking the problem, but by strengthening the solution.

Part of the solution is to give back to the community so our future problem solvers, our youth, will be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and achieve with the skills and confidence to effectively change our community at large.

My goal is to encourage our future leaders to have high levels of academic interest, motivation, and performance. By re-instilling these goals in our youth, our community will have a significant change...for the better...
