Candidate for
Council Member; City of Sunnyvale; Seat 7

Melinda was born and raised in Sunnyvale. She, her husband and their two children currently reside in a historic home in the downtown area.

As the only woman and mother on the council, Melinda came into politics as a community activist and has served as a councilmember for four years. She enjoys working with the citizens and businesses in Sunnyvale to find the solutions that will benefit the community as a whole.

Prior to her career in politics, Melinda spent most of her career in marketing, working for both high-tech companies and nonprofit organizations, as well as running her own small business. She also spent two years in Russia working for a newspaper.

Melinda graduated with bachelor's degrees in communications and Russian studies from the University of California at San Diego, and is currently pursuing her MBA at Santa Clara University.
