Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Pleasanton

I am a 17 year resident of Pleasanton where I both live and operate my business, Spring Street Studios, a media production company. I share my life with my wife of 24 years, Josine Pentin, who is an engineer with Juniper Networks in San Jose. Both my wife Josine and I are extremely proud of our 17 year old daughter, Joi who is now in her senior year at Amador Valley High School.

I spent 4 years in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant, mustering out in 1979 with my honorable discharge.

I graduated from Chabot College with an A.A. degree in Television and Radio Broadcasting and have worked in the field ever since.

My vocation has led me around the world into many different fields with the highlight being my role with the television series "Destination Diving" as an Associate Producer, Director of Photography and Underwater Director of Photography.

Outside of my activities on the Pleasanton Parks & Recreation Commission and other committees or task forces, I am a 24 year member of Rotary International with the Pleasanton North Rotary Club where I served as it's President in 2005/2006 and was honored as the "Rotarian of the Year" in 2007.

I am an avid cyclist which has been extremely valuable as I am the Vice-Chair of the Pleasanton Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee where we are bringing to the City of Pleasanton both a Bicycle Master Plan along with a Pedestrian Master Plan next year. Also through my cycling I helped found the "Cycling for Civics" campaign along with Pleasanton School Board President, Jim Ott. "Cycling for Civics" has helped raise over 10,000 dollars for our two civics competition classes ("We the People") at Foothill High and Amador High. This past year we also included the Mock Trial team at Amador as well.

I also enjoy golf, doing triathlons, raquetball, reading and through my profession, creating images, mostly of wildlife or scenic vistas using both film and video.
